Memorial Ceremonies for Pets While society recognizes the value of ceremony to help people accept and cope with death, funerals and memorial services are almost always reserved for humans, not pets. Yet, for many, the loss of a beloved pet can be equally as devastating. Memorial services celebrating and honoring a cherished animal companion promote heartfelt sharing of thoughts and feelings which might otherwise have no avenue for expression - helping to create a sense of peace and completion for all who participate. Additionally, the process of crafting a memorial can itself be an integral part of the healing process. I would like to offer my services to help you create a ceremony to commemorate your departed animal companion. How you want to do this is up to you.  I am glad to participate, facilitate and offer my talents in this process. A little about me…. I am a professional classical musician, healer and, most recently, a Universal Life Minister. My involvement with animals and with ceremony goes back many years. I have participated in many ceremonies, both joyous and sorrowful, as a professional violinist. Additionally, I have composed written musical compositions – “Musical Memorials” – to commemorate and honor the memory of beloved animals and humans. I have performed spontaneously composed music during ceremonies, as well. I have spent my life healing myself as well as others and have over time developed and incorporated many different approaches and bodies of work. One aspect of my healing work is the facilitation of life/death transitions: assisting animals move through the death process with greater ease. I view this as sacred work and myself as simply a loving facilitator. And, finally…. I have been involved with both the creation and implementation of a wide array of ceremonies and I have never failed to be moved by their transformative powers. The concept of holding memorial services for animals is very dear to my heart and something I feel is extremely important and very needed.
